  • Unit description:
    Build leadership and influence capabilities to embed organisation-wide OSH. Evaluate personal/team behaviour, choose influence strategies, manage change, communicate effectively, and reflect on your own OSH leadership performance (CPD focus).

Course Content

Module 1 :The learner will understand individual and team behaviour and performance in relation to the attainment of work objectives.

  • Lecture1: The learner can evaluate how the behaviour and capabilities of individuals can impact the attainment of work objectives
  • Reflective journal entries based on lectures
  • Lecture 2: The learner can evaluate how the behaviour and capabilities of a team can impact the implementation of work objectives
  • Mock scenario analysis and group discussions

Module1 Summative Assessment

Module 2: The learner will understand how to lead and influence others to achieve results

Module 2 Summative Assessment
In (1,500–2,000 words) learners will complete a comprehensive written assignment that includes: Analysis of leadership theories/styles and their impact on OSH teams. Reflection on the role of emotional intelligence in leading teams and managing conflict. Strategies for building effective, diverse teams (including virtual team dynamics). Approaches to influencing internal and external stakeholders in OSH contexts.

Module 3: The learner will be able to embed an organisation-wide approach to OSH

Leadership Styles and Emotional Intelligence Report: A comprehensive written report where learners will analyze and compare different leadership styles, incorporating their personal

Module4- Summative Assessment
Learners submit a 1,000–1,500 word CPD plan that includes Personal SWOT results Leadership effectiveness via KPIs Gap analysis and mapped actions for growth based on IOSH competencies
